A Fall of Connection, Travel, and Storytelling
North Carolina, Maryland, & South Carolina
Hey y'all!
This past fall was one I’ll always hold close. I had the joy of traveling and reconnecting with families I’ve worked with over the past ten years in Maryland while also meeting up with returning and new clients in Wilmington, NC, and welcoming new families in the Greenville, SC area. Phew! Its been a fantastic ride, thank you! My heart is so full right now.
One of the most meaningful parts of this season was catching up with families I’ve photographed year after year. Being invited back into your lives watching children grow, hearing new stories, and continuing to document your family as it evolves; is something I deeply cherish. This yearly tradition of reconnecting is one of the reasons I love being a lifestyle family photographer. Just like all families, each session looked a little different, and that’s exactly how I believe family photography should feel. Some families welcomed me into their homes for quiet, everyday storytelling. Others met me in local parks, backyard spaces (one family made s'mores!), social media studios, walks along their street, or along the coast at the beach. These sessions weren’t about perfect poses; they were about connection and documenting life as it naturally unfolds.
It felt so good and meaningful to ease my way back into photography, after a year where life really threw me a curve ball with doctors appointments, tests, and surgeries it required me to slow down and refocus my life. Picking up my camera and returning to this work and to the families who trust me with their stories was a reminder of how powerful and grounding this kind of storytelling can be. Life is everchanging and so, so precious. So I do want to thank you for your support this year.
Travel has always been an important part of my work, and I’m incredibly grateful to continue documenting families across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Maryland. I’m already looking ahead with excitement to next year and continuing this tradition with both familiar and new families.
